They chose to move Imran Khan because of the legal problems involving the cipher case that are happening right now.
Because of a court order, the Islamabad Police moved former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan from Attock Jail to Adiala prison on Tuesday evening.
A big group of Islamabad Police came to Attock Jail with 13 vehicles, including police cars and an ambulance with medical staff and doctors.
They decided to transfer Imran Khan because of the ongoing legal case, called the cipher case, which is being heard in Attock Jail.
This move happened after there was a delay in following the court order, which was given by Chief Justice Aamir Farooq the day before.
Imran says he is fine
On Monday, Imran Khan refused to move from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Sources say that during a court hearing for the cipher case, Imran Khan told his lawyer that he didn’t want to go to Adiala Jail. He directed his lawyer, Salman Safdar, to withdraw their application requesting the transfer to Adiala. Imran Khan mentioned that he was fine in Attock Jail and didn’t wish to be moved.
During the hearing, Salman Safdar informed Imran Khan about the Islamabad High Court’s order, which stated that he should be transferred to Adiala Jail, where all under-trial prisoners from Punjab are usually kept.
Capital police custody
Earlier in the day, a large group of Islamabad Police, including an armored vehicle and an ambulance, arrived at Attock Jail to carry out Imran Khan’s transfer. He was then handed over to the capital police, marking the start of his journey to Adiala Jail.
It’s worth noting that Imran Khan’s lawyer, Sher Afzal Marwat, confirmed the transfer on social media. He mentioned that the former Prime Minister would be provided a room with its own bathroom and other necessary facilities, as per the jail rules for important people.
Imran Khan’s legal team had previously filed a court application to oppose his detention in Attock Jail instead of Adiala Jail, which ultimately led to this transfer.
Imran Khan’s legal troubles began on August 5 when he was arrested at his residence in Zaman Park, Lahore, due to his conviction in the Tosha Khana case. This transfer to Adiala Jail shows that the legal proceedings against the PTI Chairman are continuing.
