Pakistan Shaheens ended the first day of the second four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A’ with a score of 39-2 in 16 overs, trailing by 219 runs with eight wickets in hand. Bangladesh ‘A’ was bowled out for 258 runs at the DXC Arena in Darwin. The opening batters, Sahibzada Farhan (4, 13b) and Haseebullah (18, 46b, 3x4s), were removed by Ripon Mondol. Mohammad Ali (1 not out, 5b) and Omair Bin Yousuf (7 not out, 33b, 1×4) will start the second day’s play.
Kashif Ali took the first wicket for Pakistan Shaheens by dismissing Shadman Islam in the eighth over after skipper Sahibzada won the toss and elected to bowl. Parvez Hossain Emon (30, 75b, 4x4s) and skipper Mahmudul Hasan Joy formed a 60-run partnership for the second wicket before Khurram Shahzad took the wicket of Emon. Khurram and Faisal Akram then claimed two more wickets, putting Bangladesh ‘A’ under pressure at 104-4. Skipper Mahmudul (69, 90b, 8x4s, 1×6) and Aich Mollah added a 54-run partnership for the fifth wicket before Mahmudul fell to Kashif.

Bangladesh ‘A’ suffered another blow at 188-7 with Aich Mollah (55, 80b, 7x4s) getting caught behind and Hasan Murad being run out for a duck. Contributions from Mahidul Hasan Ankon (31, 43b, 6x4s), Rejaur Rehman Raja (28, 34b, 5x4s), and Ripon Mondol (17, 40b, 2x4s) helped Bangladesh ‘A’ reach a total of 258 in 67.3 overs.
Pacers Khurram and Kashif took three and two wickets respectively, while Faisal Akram and Kamran Ghulam each bagged two wickets.
